Why is it called a pineapple when it is neither pine nor apple?

pines are so because the trees kinda look the same and (for some reason) pine cones alread existed - without the trees. it was just coincidence that they were similar

and as for apples, well
biggest debacle of the 7th century
some Roman dude was all crazy on lead poisoning from the contaminated aqueducts and on holiday in Spain.
he ate a pineapple and then an apple and was confused as to the 'fuit-with-no-name'
being a half-wit, he couldn't think of anything better
